North Carolina magazine has named Tiger’s Eye Golf Links in Sunset Beach one of North Carolina’s “Top 100” golf courses. In addition Tiger’s Eye’s was ranked 3rd among “Best Courses By Region/Coastal Top 10” and its hole No. 9 was named one of the best par 4s in the North Carolina’s coastal region.
The rankings were announced in the March issue of North Carolina magazine, which includes its annual Golf Guide.
“We are pleased to be recognized again by our state magazine,” said Tom Plankers, Director of Golf for Ocean Ridge Plantation. “It’s awesome to be in the rankings of this region’s ‘Top 100’ again this year.”
About North Carolina Magazine
North Carolina Magazine is the official publication of the N.C. Citizens for Business and Industry. The North Carolina Magazine Golf Panel is comprised of 135 raters who are allowed to rate only the N.C. courses they have actually played. To determine the state’s Top Courses, panelists rate five elements about each course on a scale of 1 to 5, including course design, condition, pace of play, service and overall rating. The “Top 100” courses are selected based on a points system. Each panelist, based on his/her own opinion and experience at the course, lists the top 30 courses in North Carolina. A set amount of points is given for each number, 1 through 30. The Top 100 is then selected based on the amount of points each course receives.
