CUMBERLAND, Md. -- Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort – home to the state’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf course – announces the hiring of Don Budd as the new Head Golf Professional.

Prior to taking over as Head Professional, Budd served as Assistant Golf Professional, Golf Instructor and Golf Tournament Manager at Rocky Gap. He also worked at the Maryland National Golf Club, Walt Disney World and Budd Pro, Inc. – where he served as president.
“I am extremely excited about the great opportunities here at Rocky Gap,” Budd says. “Having been with this resort for a couple years, I’ve been able to see many positive changes first-hand and feel there is no limit to where this course can go. Being the Head Professional at a Jack Nicklaus Signature course is a lot to live up to, but we have the team in place to make Rocky Gap a must-play destination.”
Among the many experiences Budd brings to his new position include: serving as logistics coordinator and member of the planning committee for the Tiger Woods Foundation; member of the professional teaching team for events including the Walt Disney World Junior Golf Experience, J.P. Morgan Teambuilding Event, Parent/Child Snag Golf Challenge, and the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association Clinic.
