Golf Illustrated magazine is pleased to announce the addition of two new contributors for 2007. Steve Bann and Dale Lynch will each write a column in the long-standing “Lessons From The Teaching Pros” section of the instruction-focused publication.
Dale Lynch has coached reigning U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy since he was 15 years old. PGA Tour stars Aaron Baddeley, Mat Goggin, Steve Allan and David McKenzie also have claimed Lynch as their coach.
Steve Bann’s coaching career has included the mentoring of Stuart Appleby and Robert Allenby since their time in the junior ranks. His other students include K.J. Choi and 2003 U.S. Amateur champion Nick Flanagan.
“We are excited to have Steve Bann and Dale Lynch as contributing writers for 2007,” said Jason Sowards, editor of Golf Illustrated. “It is rare to find teaching professionals who have experience teaching all levels of golf – especially up to the professional ranks.”
Bann’s background stems not only from teaching, but also from playing on the Australian PGA Tour full-time from 1981 to 1986 and part-time from 1986 to 1996. In addition to playing and teaching on the links, Bann has published four books on golf instruction and has contributed to Golf Australia magazine.
Lynch has been a member of the Australian PGA for 25 years and was named the Victorian PGA Coach of the Year in 1995, 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 and Australian Coach of the Year in 2000.
Golf Illustrated magazine is America’s oldest golf publication. With a circulation of more than 200,000 readers, Golf Illustrated provides the most in-depth instruction features and creative equipment coverage.
