VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada -- K.J. Choi used Miura CB-501 irons to fire a closing-round 68 Sunday, grabbing 6th place alone at the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open. It was his second Top 10 finish of the season on the PGA Tour (he finished tied for 9th at the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego in January).CB-501 mix
Choi made five birdies in the final, including a key 4 on the par-5 18th at the TPC San Antonio.
"We're pleased to see K.J.'s iron play rounding into form going into the Masters," said Adam Barr, president of Miura. "We don't pay players to play our clubs, so it's a big honor -- and responsibility -- to have K.J. choose us. All three Miuras -- Mr. Miura, and his sons Yoshitaka and Shinei, have worked extensively with K.J. to get his clubs just the way he wants them--and that's just from our factory in Himeji, Japan. Bill Choung of CompuGolf in Dallas, a Miura authorized dealer who works on K.J.'s clubs, has also been a big help as well."
The CB-501 is one of a complete line of forged cavity backs that Miura offers. The company also makes classic forged blades, as well as forged wedges and putters and a full line of other golf clubs.
