ORLANDO, Fla. -- What are the most popular courses among golfers who use GolfNow to book their tee times? Based on golfers' reviews posted on GolfNow.com, GolfNow will announce the top 10 courses in 25 U.S. and Canadian markets beginning April 1.
Since the GolfNow ratings and reviews service was launched in October, more than 33,000 golfers have submitted a course review after playing a round of golf. Ninety percent of the more than 4,000 courses on the GolfNow platform have received at least one review.
Rankings will be announced for the following markets: Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hawaii, Houston, Inland Empire (Calif.), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Naples, Nashville, Orange County (Calif.), Orlando, Phoenix, Portland (OR), Raleigh-Durham, Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto and Tucson.
"We launched the ratings and reviews service to be the definitive source of objective, up-to-date course information," said Will McIntosh, senior vice president of Business Development and Strategy at Golf Channel. "The response we've received gives us an opportunity to share information that will help golfers decide where they want to play their next round based on feedback from golfers like themselves."
The top 10 rankings by market will be compiled using the service's overall star rating system, which is calculated based on the number of positive recommendations a course receives from reviewing golfers.
Golfers who reserve a tee time using GolfNow have an opportunity to review a course and provide feedback based on their experience. Golfers can rate a course with one to five stars, write a review and read reviews from other golfers.
The ratings and reviews feature not only highlights a course's overall star rating, but also provides the latest information on course conditions and difficulty, staff friendliness, 18-hole pace of play and value as rated by other golfers.
GolfNow ratings and reviews also are intended to help course operators better understand what golfers want from their golf experience.
The GolfNow network includes more than 4,000 courses in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the United Kingdom. GolfNow is the most popular and widely used online service for golfers who are searching for tee times that meet their schedules and budgets.
GolfNow is part of Golf Channel Solutions, the business-to-business arm for the world's leading consumer tee-time portal. Golf Channel Solutions offers services that help golf courses connect to a growing number of golfers through technology-driven programs and services.
