Aldila dominates wood, hybrid shaft manufacturer counts on PGA Tour

POWAY, Calif. -- Aldila dominated the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Honda Classic. Aldila had 22 more wood shafts and more than double the amount of hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey.

Aldila's shafts were so popular at the Honda Classic, that 4 of the top 5 finishers at were playing Aldila shafts. The company's leading shaft series RIP was represented well in the Top 5 as well as the new Tour Green shafts.

One of the Most Accurate Drivers at the Honda played Aldila's RIP Phenom shaft in his driver and its new Tour Blue shaft in his 3 Wood. He finished with an overall driving accuracy percentage of 76.79 percent, which was well ahead of the Field's average of 63 percent.

The RIP Phenom shafts incorporates Aldila's Tour proven RIP Technology® (Reverse Interlaminar Placement) with unique composite construction to create a new and innovative shaft flex profile for maximum distance and control - Hyperbolic Flex Technology™. RIP Technology repositions the materials and patterns to optimize the performance characteristics of the shaft.

Aldila's latest addition to this shaft series it the Phenom NL wood shaft with has a stiffer tip for lower launch with less spin. The unique design of the Phenom NL offers a stiff tip while still maintaining the feel that has made the Phenom the hottest shaft in golf.

The Phenom's Hyperbolic Flex Technology provides a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control, with a very firm butt section for an incredibly stable feel, while the center section of the shaft is softer to provide outstanding kick through impact to maximize ball speed.

"The RIP Phenom incorporates the same flex, torque and feel properties that have made the original RIP the leading shaft on the PGA Tour, with a flex profile to achieve unparalleled performance and launch characteristics for better players," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila's Marketing Manager.

Through the use of computer modeling technology and exclusive carbon fiber materials, Aldila engineers completely turned golf shaft design and performance inside out. RIP Technology provides a shaft design with optimum flex and torque characteristics with increased cross-sectional stability throughout the tip area for greater shot control.

The Phenom is available in 50, 60, 70 and 80gram designs, with R, S, X, and TX flexes with an MSRP of $199.
