Aerotech Golf SteelFiber shafts earn T3 finish at ACE Group Classic

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Just two events after winning the Champions Tour season-opener, Aerotech Golf's SteelFiber shafts took more top money. The No. 1 composite iron shafts in golf delivered a T3 finish at the ACE Group Classic and secured the No. 2 ranking in the current Charles Schwab Cup race.

The two-year Champions Tour player shot 16 birdies for a solid 9-under (71-68-68=207) on the TwinEagles GC (Talon Course) in Naples, Fla. He plays SteelFiber i110 shafts in his TaylorMade irons.

"Our growing success on the Champions and PGA Tours continues to spotlight the unique performance benefits that players receive with SteelFiber shafts," said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. "The innovative composite technology of SteelFiber shafts combine the power of graphite with the stability of steel, and the resulting performance reduces fatique for players of all ages and skill levels, as well as provides for more greater vibration dampening."

For the third consecutive year, SteelFiber shafts were the No. 1 iron composite shaft on the PGA TOUR. In addition to their second-straight Ryder Cup appearance, SteelFiber shafts won the 2012 FedExCup title, the TOUR Championship, The Players Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open and collected 21 Top 10 finishes on the PGA and Champions Tours. In 2011, two of the Top Eight players in the final FedExCup standings played SteelFiber shafts and SteelFiber delivered two Top Three finishes in the PGA TOUR PlayOffs.

SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft's graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.

Aerotech Golf specializes in innovative composite technology, and has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Titleist, Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Miura, Srixon, Lynx, KZG, Nakashima, Scratch Golf, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
