SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf win AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The No. 1 composite iron shafts on the PGA TOUR, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. This week's victory marks the second pro tour win and the seventh Top Five finish in the past five weeks for shafts well-known for combining the power of graphite and the stability of steel.

The nine-year pro and reigning FedExCup champion shot 19-under 267 to break the tournament record and capture his first win of 2013, playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in his Bridgestone irons. The victory was the fifth of his career and fourth within the past 22 months. The champion moved to No. 4 in the world, and is now the second-highest American in the world ranking.

"We are very pleased to have such an unprecedented start to the 2013 season. More and more TOUR players are discovering the unique playing benefits of composite iron shafts so we're looking forward to a very exciting season this year," said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. "SteelFiber is the only technology of its kind on the PGA TOUR. SteelFiber shafts provide the consistency of steel, while at the same time provide the feel and vibration-dampening benefits of graphite. It's a winning innovation that's changing the game."

SteelFiber shafts have been the No. 1 iron composite shafts on the PGA TOUR in 2010, 2011 and 2012. In addition to their second-straight Ryder Cup appearance, SteelFiber shafts won the 2012 FedExCup title, the TOUR Championship, The Players Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open and collected 21 Top 10 finishes on the PGA and Champions Tours. In 2011, two of the Top Eight players in the final FedExCup standings played SteelFiber shafts and SteelFiber delivered two Top Three finishes in the PGA TOUR PlayOffs.

SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft's graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.

Aerotech Golf specializes in innovative composite technology, and has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Titleist, Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Miura, Srixon, Lynx, KZG, Nakashima, Scratch Golf, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
