Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday reports new WestJet flights from Toronto

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday -- the Grand Strand's golf marketing cooperative --announces Canada-based WestJet will offer new nonstop service from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) starting May 2.

Operating one of the youngest fleets of Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft and strategically timed to connect with 98% of its Canadian coast-to-coast operations at YYZ, the low cost carrier will fly to the Grand Strand twice-weekly departing at 9:30 a.m. with MYR arrival at 11:35 a.m., leaving plenty of time for same day play on the area's 100-plus golf courses.

IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) has reported Canadian travelers make more than 1 million trips annually involving golf. More than 6 million Canadians play golf with 2.5 million participating as "core players" with an average of 28 rounds per year. South Carolina is Canada's No. 2 golf vacation destination behind Florida.

In addition to its bounty of golf, WestJet passengers can enjoy the Grand Strand's world-renowned entertainment and nightlife as well as its 60-plus miles of pristine beaches. For flight schedules featuring great introductory fares, visit www.westjet.com.
