HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Saint Andrew's Golf Club, which is commemorating 125 years of golf in America with a weeklong celebration this June, has announced the Honorary Committee for the event.
The nine-person committee brings together a distinguished list of luminaries from inside and outside golf, from the United States and across the sea. They will assist the club in planning the anniversary celebration, which runs from June 4-8, 2013, and in raising funds to support event's designated beneficiaries. The committee members are:

Peter Dawson, Chief Executive, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland

Jane Pauley, Broadcast Journalist
Major Dan Rooney, Founder and President, The Folds of Honor Foundation

"Continuing our legacy of charitable involvement, Saint Andrew's has designated The First Tee of Metropolitan New York and The Folds of Honor organizations as the two key beneficiaries of the celebration."
A number of major events have already been announced as part of the celebration, including the Folds of Honor Golf Tournament (Tuesday, June 4) to support the families of deceased and disabled members of the military; Celebrating Women in Golf (Wednesday, June 5), marking the history and growth of women's golf in America; the 125th Anniversary Celebrity Golf Tournament (Friday, June 7), featuring 24 fivesomes (four amateurs and one celebrity assigned to each group), and the Gala 125th Anniversary Dinner Dance (Saturday, June 8) at the Waldorf Astoria in midtown Manhattan.
