Chateau des Vigiers Golf and Country Club announce inaugural tournament

In a move designed to encourage amateur golfers to enjoy playing with PGA professionals abroad and appreciate the pleasures of the wine from the region, Chateau des Vigiers, near Bergerac in the Bordeaux region of France, have signed a deal with The Association of Saint-Emilion Grand Crus Classes to present the first Saint-Emilion Crus Classes Trophy on the 31st May to 2 June 2013.

Throughout the competition weekend, players and their partners will savour numerous Grand Crus Classes wines with superb gastronomy and excellent golf . The highlight of the event will be on 2nd June when the prize giving and cocktail dinner will be held in the beautiful courtyard at Chateua des Vigiers.

As Bernard Petine, Managing Director of the Chateau says "With the Ryder Cup coming to Paris in 2018, we are beginning a long term strategy of building on the success of this truly worldwide event and hoping that more and more golfers from all over the world will come to appreciate our facilities and what we have to offer"
