BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Leupold has joined with Birdies for the Brave, a PGA Tour supported military outreach program, to help in its mission of raising funds and awareness for eight national military specific non-profits.
Launched in 2005 by Phil and Amy Mickelson, Birdies for the Brave® has the support of a dozen PGA Tour professionals and benefits eight organizations. Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Homes for Our Troops, Navy SEAL Foundation, Operation Homefront, Military Warriors Support Foundation, Green Beret Foundation, United Through Reading and Wounded Warrior Project.
Mickelson and the other tour players, including Leupold Golf pro Boo Weekley, support the cause through donations, clinics and appearances throughout the season.
"We're thrilled to announce our support for Birdies for the Brave, and look forward to participating in several events at TPC courses across the country to raise funds for the numerous military home front groups they support," said Rob Morrison, vice president of marketing for Leupold & Stevens.
Since its beginning, Birdies for the Brave has donated more than 100,000 tickets to PGA Tour events, provided 20 mortgage-free homes to Wounded Warriors, and given 140 college scholarships to the children of military families.
"I am proud to announce a partnership with Leupold Golf," said Stephen Kupcha, USN, Ret. "As a retired SEAL, I am familiar with the quality of Leupold equipment. Their golf laser rangefinder is no exception."
Throughout 2013, Leupold will also be sponsoring the "Leupold Challenge" - a closest to the pin contest at all Birdies for the Brave fundraising events.
