FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- JumboMax Golf Grips, the pioneer of the USGA-conforming super-oversized grip category, will be exhibiting their game-changing grips at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, Thursday, January 24 through Saturday, January 26. Attendees who visit JumboMax at booth #1964 can learn about the revolutionary grips that are changing golf and also have the opportunity to meet Mike Dobbyn, long drive world record-holder and Don Nottingham, former NFL running back known as "The Human Bowling Ball", both JumboMax converts.
Dobbyn, who stands 6'9" and Nottingham a tad less at 5'9" are both enjoying success since switching to JumboMax. Dobbyn picked up his second tour win at the Long Drivers of America (LDA) Mile High Shootout on August 25, 2012 in Denver. Dobbyn took home the championship with a 427 yard drive in the final round to defeat Jamie Sadlowski. Dobbyn was using a Krank Rage driver head, a House of Forged LT2 shaft and a JumboMax Grip.
"To hit it far, you need to swing fast, not hard. JumboMax grips allow me to do that. Another bonus is that I don't have to worry about the dreaded snap-hook shot. Because of the grip, I'm able to release the club as hard and as fast as I want," explains Dobbyn.
Don Nottingham plays for recreation, but also has a new-found enjoyment of the game. The larger diameter of JumboMax Grips allow for a tension-free grip which helps Nottingham release the club with more speed while keeping the clubface square longer, improving both accuracy and distance. And, with hands that have taken a beating from years of playing pro football, Nottingham really likes the fact that JumboMax Grips are the most shock-absorbing grips on the market. "The grip feels like one solid connection to the the club" he said, adding, "It's one less thing I need to worry about in my golf swing. JumboMax grips are the best thing to happen to my golf game".
JumboMax Grips garnered the attention of the golf world by offering golfers an alternative to the standard-size or "skinny" grips typically found on clubs. The super-oversized JumboMax Grip, with its patented design and larger diameter, provides a more secure Finger-Palm Grip™ which makes for a tension-free connection to the club. This Finger-Palm Grip technology means relaxed grip pressure, more consistent squaring of the club face, a more fluid and powerful swing, and the most shock-absorption for continuous comfortable play.
A common misconception is that a larger grip causes the golfer to under-rotate, which leaves the clubface open and results in a slice or weak fade. But Dobbyn's long drive success proves JumboMax Grips' claim that their super-oversized grip allows for less tension, and that results in creating a more fluid swing, faster club head speed and more consistent squaring of the clubface for longer, straighter drives.
With the addition of the new JumboMax Small grip to the lineup, golfers of all shapes and sizes, from a "human bowling ball" to towering Mike Dobbyn, can benefit from playing JumboMax. "We're very excited to bring our over-sized grip technology to more golfers," said creator Mike Kachlik. "JumboMax grips were designed to fit the anatomy of the human hand in a way that feels completely natural, allowing the hands to function correctly and efficiently. Our grips do that and the result is better control, less effort, more comfort, and longer and straighter shots. And that means more fun playing. Now with our new +1/4-inch Small grip and new Mid-Jumbo Putter grips, more golfers can get more out of their game."
Long drive champion Mike Dobbyn will be appearing at the JumboMax Booth #1964 on January 24 from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m., on January 25 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. and on January 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Former Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins running back Don "The Human Bowling Ball" Nottingham will be on hand to greet fans at the JumboMax Grip booth #1964 on Friday, January 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
