Dramatic 18-hole match on Tuesday's Big Break Greenbrier finale; viewer's choice Wednesday features Golf Channel specials

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Golf Channel’s programming schedule next week features the finale of Big Break Greenbrier on Tuesday and the return of three of Golf Channel’s most critically acclaimed original productions that aired in 2012 -- Legendary Conversation, American Triumvirate and War by the Shore.

Big Break Greenbrier’s season finale (Tuesday, 9 p.m. ET) pits James Lepp (Abbotsford, British Columbia) and Mark Silvers (Savannah, Ga.) in an 18-hole match that promises to be one of the most intense and dramatic finales in the series’ 18-season history. The winner of the match receives an exemption to the 2013 Greenbrier Classic on the PGA TOUR and more than $80,000 in cash and prizes.

In a season that started with 12 competitors, Golf Channel’s Big Break Greenbrier has narrowed the field to the final two – James Lepp and Mark Silvers – who will meet for an intense and dramatic 18-hole singles match on Tuesday’s season finale. At stake for the winner will be a tournament exemption at the PGA TOUR’s 2013 Greenbrier Classic and more than $80,000 in cash and prizes.

Golf Channel commemorates this centennial with American Triumvirate, a captivating, hour-long special offering an in-depth look at the careers and lives of each man and who they were beyond the record books.

Narrated by acclaimed actor Kurt Russell, known for his hard-edged, tough guy roles in such movies as “Backdraft” (1991) and “Tombstone” (1993), American Triumvirate shows how this triumvirate of men helped save the sport in America and shape a modern, new era of golf. The film is motivated by American Triumvirate: San Snead, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan and the Modern Age of Golf written by author and golf historian James Dodson.

War by the Shore

Produced by multiple Emmy Award-winner Ross Greenburg, former president of HBO Sports, this 60-minute documentary provides an insider’s look at the 1991 Ryder Cup. Played at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, the three-day competition between Team U.S.A. and Europe was a tense, back and forth – not all together civil – affair, filled with miraculous shots and epic collapses. A feud that’s remembered to this day as the most famous Ryder Cup ever played. War By the Shore goes inside the ropes with in-depth and insightful interviews with many of the competing players, including all four at the center of the remarkable final day: Mark Calcavecchia, Colin Montgomerie, Hale Irwin and Bernhard Langer, each who leave no words unspoken.
