CordeValle in San Martin, California honored by Conde Nast Traveler

SAN MARTIN, Calif. -- CordeValle, a Rosewood Resort, has been ranked the No. 1 resort in Northern California by Conde Nast Traveler, in the magazine's 2102 Readers' Choice Awards, unveiled in the November issue.

CordeValle also earned a spot among the Top 10 Hotels and Resorts in the United States and on the list of Top 100 Hotels and Resorts in the World.

The Conde Nast Traveler ratings, which drew 46,476 reader responses, addressed the top resorts from Pebble Beach to Lake Tahoe, with CordeValle leading the way on the Top 15 list, earning a perfect score of 100 for rooms, service and design and an overall score of 96.3. CordeValle's score landed the No. 8 ranking in the U.S. poll, and No. 29 position in the World poll.

"This is a spectacular honor, as well as humbling, when you consider the prestigious resorts from around the world that are on the lists," said Alan Campey, Regional Vice President for Rosewood. "It is also rewarding for our staff. Congratulations go out to our entire team, that its dedication to our resort guests and club members around the clock has not gone unnoticed."

An intimate, secluded destination in San Martin, Calif., CordeValle is tucked along the inland foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, between San Jose and the Monterey Peninsula. Offering country club charm, with 45 expansive rooms that create a secluded sanctuary, CordeValle is designed into the harmony of the natural mountainside landscape, overlooking the golf course and rolling hills.

A golfing haven that features a renowned Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course, CordeValle has established itself as one of West Coast's premier championship golf venues. CordeValle hosts the PGA TOUR's fall stop in Northern California, the Open, as well as the annual Gifford Invitational, a premier men's collegiate event. It also was chosen for the prestigious 2011 PGA Cup, an international competition of club professionals from the USA and Great Britain & Ireland, and is looking forward to hosting a national championship, the 2013 USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship.

A tennis club, swimming and Sense® spa are also available, as is a taste of California's famed wine country, with a winery and vineyard right on property. Dining options include Il Vigneto's Italian cuisine with contemporary California flair, the Lion's Peak Grill, with relaxing indoor and outdoor patio seating, and the popular One Iron Bar.

Conde Nast Traveler and its readers praised CordeValle as an "isolated, private paradise" with "beautiful, woodsy décor" and "tremendous golf course," with service that makes the stay "a real treat."
