GOLD CANYON, Ariz. -- The Professional Golf Marshals Association announced the appointment of Thomas E. Allen, former officer of a Fortune 500 company, as the association’s new President. “We are very pleased to have a person with such an extensive leadership background join our association executive team,” stated Jim Collins, Chairman & CEO of the PGMA.
Mr. Allen is relocating from Michigan to Arizona to assume his duties with the association. He will also have an equity position in the association along with a seat on the Board of Directors.
Collins, the former president of the association, will now focus on special projects including the production of a PGMA infomercial and the expansion of golf marshalling relationships with tournament directors.
The association also announced the hiring of Danielle Allen as Director of Member Services. Her duties will center on member services, golf marshal training and event planning.
The mission of the PGMA is to enhance the game of golf through the establishment of an alliance of golf marshals, course starters and volunteers trained in the area of rules of golf, etiquette, pace of play, golf course safety as well as professional and amateur tournament play,
The Professional Golf Marshals Association is dedicated to the betterment of the tournament golf experience of both the players and the spectators. The goal is to certify those who are marshals or volunteers at professional and amateur tournaments as well as those marshals and starters who serve at public and private courses.
