"On behalf of everyone at Redbourn, I'd like to congratulate all of the winners, and wish them luck in the Grand Final at St Andrews next month."
Continuing Redbourn's tireless promotion of junior golf, a full schedule of summer activities is on offer at the club every week of the school holidays including three-day coaching camps and Friday Fun Days for youngsters between the ages of six and 14 to benefit from the expert tutelage of the club's PGA Professionals.
Utilising Redbourn's extensive practice facilities, such as the 20-bay driving range, children will be taught all aspects of the game from putting and chipping to iron play and driving, with fun competitions and prizes on offer.
"For any youngsters inspired by this weekend's Open, the summer coaching sessions will provide children of all ages and abilities the opportunity to experience golf in a fun and friendly environment helping them learn and improve skills, which may lead, one day, to them following in the footsteps the likes of Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood," added McDowell.
Summer Golf Camps at Redbourn cost just £70 and Friday Fun Days are £25 with the cost including all equipment, green fees and prizes. Full details of the coaching camps are available at: www.redbourngolfclub.com/whats-on/junior-summer-coaching-activities-2012
