11-year-old Anna Sheridan records ace at England's Hoebridge Golf Centre

Eleven year-old Hoebridge golfer Anna Sheridan achieved a feat at Hoebridge Golf Centre that some of the world's greatest players are yet to experience - a hole in one.

The plucky youngster, taking part in a competition over the Jubilee weekend, teed up on the 108-yard fourth hole of the picturesque Par-3 Maybury Course at Hoebridge and aced it with a sweetly struck shot into the heart of the green.

Anna said: "I couldn't believe it! Seeing the ball go in was amazing. I've never had a hole-in-one before and to get one in a competition was a great feeling."

As part of the successful Junior Academy at the public pay-and-play centre - part of BGL Golf, the UK's leading golf course owner and operator - Anna receives quality coaching from Hoebridge's stable of expert PGA professionals, including Ben Rosser.

He said: "Anna is an extremely talented player. She started attending our day camps in the summer of 2007 and has progressed to the junior group classes held by my fellow PGA Professional Leighton Kane. Seeing her play today, I believe she has a great future ahead of her - with a few more aces to come."

Mike O'Connell, Hoebridge Golf Centre Senior General Manager, said: "It is a tremendous achievement for Anna to shoot a hole-in-one at such a young age. She is a terrific little golfer and is getting better every time she plays. Everyone at Hoebridge was very pleased for her."
