Dec. 23, 2004 – Brunswick Plantation and Golf Resort in Calabash, N.C., has awarded a two-year contract to develop and manage the Resort’s golf marketing program to one of the Carolinas’ top golf management companies.

Signature Golf Group, which has offices in Surfside Beach, S.C., and Charlotte, N. C., will handle all aspects of marketing for the Resort’s 27 holes, including promotional programs, advertising and “partnership marketing” with area accommodations. The contract takes effect in November 1, 2004.

Although Signature Golf Group is a new management company formed in late 2004 by the merger of TSC Golf, Inc. of Surfside Beach and Blythe Golf Group of Charlotte, North Carolina, its principals have many years experience in the golf industry. TSC has been in business 11 years and has played a prominent role in developing and promoting golf courses along South Carolina’s Grand Strand, as well as in Mississippi and Virginia.

One of its partners is former PGA President Gary Schaal who, along with former PGA Commissioner Deane Beman, developed Cannon Ridge Golf Club in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In addition to Cannon Ridge, TSC clients included Wicked Stick Golf Links, Diamond Back Golf Club, and The Tradition Golf Club along the Grand Strand, as well as River Bend Links in Tunica, Mississippi.

Blythe Golf Group is known for numerous golf developments including Rivers Edge Golf Club, an award-winning Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Shallotte, N. C., and Waterford Golf Club, a Hale Irwin design in Rock Hill, S. C. Blythe Golf Group has been in business for nine years and has extensive experience in all phases of golf course development from the idea stage through financing, course design, construction and management. The company also provided consultation services on the evaluation of golf courses for sale or purchase. In addition to Rivers Edge and Waterford Golf Club, Blythe’s client list included The Palisades Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Timberlake Golf Club in Chapin, S. C.

All TSC and Blythe Golf Group clients are now managed by Signature Golf Group.
