Connecticut's Lake of Isles names Junior Golf Scholarship winners

NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. -- Lake of Isles and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced the 2012 Junior Golf Scholarship Program recipients.

2012 Junior Golf Scholarship Winners:

Ethan Kalk, 9 South Glastonbury, Conn.

Applicants were evaluated on character, integrity, passion and their potential for success at a highly competitive level.

The scholarship recipients will receive the following:
Weekly practice and training sessions with a Troon Golf Academy instructor.
Complimentary "standby" playing privileges on Lake of Isles North Course and reduced fees for accompanied adult guests.
Unlimited use of the Troon Golf Academy practice facility.
Lake of Isles golf bag, polo shirt, wind shirt, cap and balls.

"We would like to thank all the applicants for their interest in the junior scholarship program," said Derek Hooper, director of instruction, Troon Golf Academy at Lake of Isles. "It is very encouraging for the growth of the game to see the interest among juniors in the sport and their desire to play at a competitive level. We look forward to working with our scholarship winners this summer to help them achieve their goals."

The recipients will begin their practice session May 13 and continue through September 30, 2011.
