Carlsbad, Calif. -- King Cobra ambassador Kevin Na used his
home course to his advantage this week, going wire-to-wire to win the Mark
Christopher Charity Classic. Playing at the par-71 Empire Lakes Golf
Course -- Na's home course for the past five years -- Na carded a final
round 2-under 69 to conclude the tournament at 16-under 268, three strokes
clear of the field. Na fired a course record-tying 9-under 62 in the first
round and moved to a Tour record-tying six-shot lead at the halfway point.
The win marks the first career Nationwide Tour title in just the second
start for the 23-year-old. It is also the seventh victory this year for
Cobra ambassadors after Geoff Ogilvy (WGC-Accenture Match Play
Championship, U.S. Open), J.B. Holmes (FBR Open), Ian Poulter (Madrid Open)
and Jeong Jang (Wegmans LPGA, Japan Women's Open) won earlier in the year.
Na was competing for the first time since late April, when he withdrew from
the PGA Tour's Shell Houston Open with a broken hand. He will return to
the PGA Tour next week.
