MIAMI -- Arguably the greatest football player of all time, Jim Brown already has Hall of Fame members Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen and soon to be Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith committed to his Jim Brown Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit the Amer-I-can Foundation. These legendary players are matched by a legendary course, the Blue Monster in Doral. Rounding out the crucial elements of the charity event, and making the tournament official, The Blue, a luxury resort hotel condominium being built adjacent to the course, has signed on to be the charity tournament’s title sponsor. The charity event is set for January 31st, 2007 in Miami, FL.
The golf scramble will start with a 1:00 pm shotgun, and the event will take place just a few days before the February 4th Super Bowl in Miami – creating the opportunity for an unsurpassable field of all-star players. Not only will Brown draw stars from the sports world but from Hollywood as well. A silent auction and draw party will commence the night before at The Blue sales center.

In 1988, Brown, a National Football League Hall of Famer and motion picture actor, founded the Amer-I-Can Program, Inc., a powerful life management skills and human development program designed to help anyone regardless of race, age, religion, gender or socio-economic conditions. It allows individuals to experience success by equipping them with the tools to overcome obstacles and achieve full potential. This will be his first charity golf tournament, but based on the feedback he has already received, Brown is confident that it will become an annual tradition for many years to come and a successful fundraiser for Amer-I-can.
