Travel + Leisure Golf magazine honors resorts of Kaua'i, Hawaii

KAUA'I, Hawaii -- The Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau today announces that Travel + Leisure Golf magazine has published its “2006 Reader Survey: World’s Best Golf Resorts” and Kaua‘i was greatly honored, including being accorded top honors.

Kaua‘i’s exquisite Princeville Resort was voted No. 9 in the U.S. Top 10 Golf Resorts category, while Poipu Bay Golf Course, the sparkling amenity of the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa and home of the annual PGA Grand Slam of Golf event, was voted the “Most Underrated Course.”

Published in the September 2006 issue of Travel + Leisure Golf Magazine, currently on newsstands nationwide, the renowned publication’s annual “best-of “reader awards are determined via a numerical rating system which tabulates feedback about various criteria.

Along with Puakea Golf Course and Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Club, Princeville and Poipu Bay combine to offer 117 stellar holes and the island’s rising star golf destination “Kaua‘i: Discover Golf’s Ultimate Island Green.”

“Kaua‘i is honored by these awards as they come from travelers, people who have many choices but opt to spend their precious time and resources based on their experiences,” says Sue Kanoho, Executive Director of the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau. “Visitors are increasingly recognizing our golf experiences which are appropriately reflected in our invitation ‘Kaua‘i: Discover Golf’s Ultimate Island Green’ ”.
