PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The Bag Boy Company, celebrating its 60th year as one of the industry’s premier manufacturer of consumer golf products, has been named a supporting partner in Golf Retirement Plus™.
Founded in 1946 in Portland, Ore., and with headquarters today in Richmond, Va., The Bag Boy Company has built a worldwide reputation to both quality and consumer satisfaction.
"The Bag Boy Company has been a part of the golf industry for generations and has provided quality products for the enjoyment of millions of consumers," said PGA of America President Roger Warren. "We are proud that Bag Boy has become a member of a family of outstanding partners to PGA Professionals by supporting Golf Retirement Plus™."
The first Bag Boy golf cart was designed and made by Bruce Williamson in Portland, Ore., in 1945. The original golf cart was made out of two lawn mower wheels with flat tires mounted on an up and down folding, spring- suspension chassis, which could be attached to a standard golf bag.
The Bag Boy Company has become one of the most respected brands in golf by building a reputation for unmatched quality and durability whether it is a pull cart, travel cover, golf bag or accessory.
"We appreciate the support of the PGA Professional and are very happy to be a part of the Golf Retirement Plus program," said Bag Boy Company President Craig Ramsbottom. "The PGA Professional has partnered with the Bag Boy Company for over 60 years and therefore we are pleased to give something back to them in recognition for this long-standing support."
Founded in 1997, Golf Retirement Plus™ is a supplemental retirement program for PGA Professionals and apprentices, GCSAA Superintendents, and CMAA Club Managers, which allows them to make their own contributions or have their employers contribute to their Golf Retirement Plus™ account on their behalf. PGA Professionals may also earn personal incentives by participating in 48 Golf Retirement Plus™ Sponsor Programs.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary, The PGA of America was founded in 1916, and is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the game of golf while continuing to enhance the standards of the profession. The Association is comprised of more than 28,000 men and women PGA Professionals who are dedicated to growing participation in the game of golf.
