The Stanley Cup, sports most iconic traveling trophy, made a stop at the Bear Mountain golf club in Victoria on August 27th.
Bear Mountain investor and Carolina Hurricanes player Ray Whitney and teammate Mike Commodore escorted the Cup to Bear Mountain. Delivered by private helicopter, the cup was on display for two hours, while 200 invited guests had the rare opportunity to take photos and witness the names of famed hockey players up close and personal. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who attended, including Len Barrie, developer of the Bear Mountain Resort.
“Hockey is what brought all the investors together so it’s really fitting to have the Stanley Cup here at the Bear Mountain Resort,” said Barrie. “We feel very honored to have the chance.”
Each Hurricanes player gets three days with the Stanley Cup and even though it was Commodore’s day, he agreed to share the day with Whitney, Barrie and the fans at Bear Mountain Resort.
