Mattawang Golf Club voted Best Value Public Course in New Jersey

BELLE MEAD, N.J. -- Mattawang Golf Club continues to win accolades as one of New Jersey's top places to play. The popular daily fee club was voted by the readers of GolfStyles Magazine as the "Best Value Public Course" in the state. Some 47,000 golfers made their selection and rated this classic design course over nine other notable New Jersey public-access facilities.

"Topping the list from the GolfStyles Magazine readers poll is fantastic," said manager and head professional Mahlon Dow. "We have an exceptional, well-conditioned golf course here that has a loyal following. And more area golfers are discovering the value we offer for the quality golf experience. Everyone associated with Mattawang is very proud to receive this recognition."

Dow himself has been the recipient of several honors, notably for his innovative junior programs. He recently was voted one of the Top 50 Kids Teachers of 2010 by U.S. Kids Golf, an organization that helps children learn the game of golf and which encourages family interaction to build lasting memories. Each year, U.S. Kids Golf celebrates the world's most outstanding youth golf instructors with its Top 50 Kids Teachers award. The teachers are judged according to several criteria, including percentage of time devoted to kids programs, creativity, communication and efforts to grow the game.

In 2008, Dow was named as one of the world's "Most Admired Operators" for the year by Golf, Inc. He was one of only 20 individuals selected from nominations around the world.

Mattawang now is open for play and invites new golfers to visit and enjoy this traditional, friendly and affordable club.
