Katharine Dyson: Enter your child's golf swing in Little Linksters Contest to win title, prizes

What a swing - and she's only 6 years old. Quick. Get that on video tape.

For all those out there who have a wee golfer in their life between ages 3 and 8, here is an opportunity to show off his or her talent while giving them a crack at winning the "Best Pee-Wee Golf Swing in America" title along with some great prize packages valued at more than $600.

All you need is access to a video camera, a computer and of course, a fun little kid with a pint-sized golf club and a super swing or at least one you love - you never know what will catch the judge's eye.

And speaking of judges, Little Linkster's founder, PGA Professional Brendon Elliott, is chief judge for the contest ably assisted by celebrity golfers Annika Sorenstam, Hank Haney and Kelly Sheehan.

So grab a video of your youngster's swing, log onto littlelinksters.com and you'll get all the information you need to enter the contest including the link where you can post the video on YouTube.

Prizes will be awarded in three age categories: 3-4 year olds, 5-6 year olds and 7-8 year olds. Prizes include "First Set" golf clubs, Littlest Golfer apparel, U.S. Kids clubs and accessories, putters, training aids, lessons and books.
You have until the end of December to get in your entry. Winners will be announced at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January 27-29.

Originating in Winter Park, Florida, Little Linksters is designed to bring kids to golf in a fun and interactive way with the emphasis on FUN. Founder Elliott is developing a national program to bring to teaching professionals and organizations across the country to encourage interest in golf among young people, thereby helping to grow the game.
