Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin honored at Asia Pacific Golf Summit

Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin scoops top prestigious golf awards at the Asia Pacific Golf Summit 2010 at Centara Grand Central World in Bangkok. The Worlds experts on golf gathered from 18th - 20th October 2010 in Bangkok to debate Asia's rapidly growing role in the game of golf. Golf developers, operators, architects, builders, equipment and turf suppliers, investors and consultants together with a host of others met to share a new vision on how golf will grow in this region in the next decade.

Celebrity speakers included Greg Norman, Annika Sorenstam and Gary Player shared with the audience their views on golf and its future. Topics ranged from golf course design, human capital, architecture, golf as an Olympic sport, to the new media opportunities in communicating products and services. Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin has been recognized as a leader in the use of new media which was referenced several times in the media discussions.

Following the conference, the prestigious gala awards dinner was held by Asian Golf Monthly which is the region's most well established golf industry magazine and Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin proudly was awarded;

• 1st Runner Up: "Best Clubhouse in Asia Pacific"
This was a very competitive category covering the entire Asia Pacific region which included several prestigious clubs such as Sentosa Singapore, Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. The winner of this category was Nirwana Golf Club, Bali. No other Clubhouse in Thailand was nominated in this category.

• 2nd Runner Up "Best Golf Course in Thailand"
There are 280 golf courses in the Kingdom of Thailand so to have won this award is such a fantastic achievement for Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin which has been operating for just 2-years. Thai Country Club has won this category and is a well established club since 1996.

Last year, Stacey Walton, General Manager and Stuart Daly, Director of Operations at Banyan Golf Club were present in Kuala Lumpur and collected the award for "Best New Course in Asia Pacific 2009/2010".

Overall, the accolades that Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin has achieved since opening totals five. This includes the prestigious national awards for service excellence by Thailand Tattler in recognition of Banyan Golf Club as the "Top 20 Golf Course in Thailand" and "Best 10th Hole in Thailand".

The Asia Pacific Golf Summit will be held in Bangkok again in 2011 as Thailand has been commended as the golf hub of Asia. More details will be announced throughout the forthcoming period and next year.
