Titleist congratulates Bernard Langer on Boeing Classic victory

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. -- The unmatched golf ball performance story of Titleist continues across the worldwide professional tours, highlighted by the latest of five victories this season by the ageless Bernhard Langer. Langer trusted the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball to capture the Boeing Classic, the 13th Champions Tour title of his career. On the Nationwide Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Chris Kirk relied on the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, as well as a full complement of Titleist golf clubs, to claim his second Nationwide title this year at the Knoxville News Sentinel Open. Additional wins by Pro V1x loyalists Liang Wen Chong at the OneAsia Tour's Thailand Open and Titleist Brand Ambassador Aaron Goldberg at the season-ending Canadian Tour Championship advance Titleist's 2010 worldwide win count to 93, more than four times the nearest competitor with 20. From week to week, and around the globe, the consistent performance of Titleist validates why one ball stands alone.

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Bernhard Langer (Pro V1) closed with a final-round 3-under 69 to win the Boeing Classic on Sunday. With the win, Langer claimed his fifth Champions Tour title of the season, and the second in the greater Seattle area after his major victory a month ago at the U.S. Senior Open at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington. His 18-under 198 total matched the tournament record set last year by Pro V1 loyalist Loren Roberts.

Langer, who now boasts 83 professional wins, demonstrated a complete game at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, leading the field in putts per round (T1 /25.0) and putts per green in regulation (1.513). He ranked third in greens hit in regulation (72.2%) and tied for 9th in driving accuracy, hitting 81% of fairways for the week.

The win extends Langer's lead in the Charles Schwab Cup standings to a commanding 661-point margin.

#1 BALL, IRON, WEDGE and PUTTER: According to the Darrell Survey, Titleist was the overwhelming GOLF BALL of choice at the Boeing Classic with 57 players, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 8. Titleist was also first in IRON SETS with 26; and SAND, LOB and APPROACH WEDGES with 53.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Titleist Brand Ambassador Chris Kirk surged into the winners circle at the Knoxville Sentinel Open, his second Nationwide Tour victory of 2010. Kirk held a one shot lead entering the final round; he doubled that for a two shot margin of victory, thanks in large part to a 5-under-par closing nine, including birdies on the final two holes. Kirk shot a 5-under 67 in the final round for a 20-under 268 total. Travis Bertoni (Titleist Pro V1) matched Kirk's final round 67 to secure a runner-up finish. Two players shared third place, including Matt Davidson (Titleist Pro V1, 909 D2 driver, 909 F2 fairway metals, 909H hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron Monterey putter), who shot the low round of the day (an 8-under 64).

What's in Chris Kirk's Bag?: Titleist Pro V1x, 909 D3 driver (9.5), 906 F4 fairway metal (13.5), 909 H hybrid (19.0), CB (3-5) and 670 (6-9) irons, Vokey Design pitching (48), sand (54) and lob (60) wedges.

With the victory, Chris Kirk jumps to No. 1 on the Nationwide Tour Money list, virtually assuring that he will be one of the players among the Top-25 to earn PGA Tour cards for the 2011 season.

#1 BALL, IRON, WEDGE and PUTTER: Titleist was the overwhelming GOLF BALL of choice at the Knoxville News Sentinel Open with 101 players, nearly five times the nearest competitor with 22. Titleist also was first in IRON SETS (44); SAND, LOB and APPROACH WEDGES (137) and PUTTERS (61).

ONEASIA TOUR: Liang Wen Chong of China trusted the Titleist Pro V1x to capture the 2010 OneAsia Thailand Open at Burapha GC in Pattaya, Thailand for his third ONEAsia title and second of the 2010 OneAsia season. His previous wins include the 2009 MIDEA China Classic and the 2010 Luxehills Chengdu Open. The 32-year-old, coming off an impressive top-10 finish at the PGA Championship, held a one-stroke lead after the third round and shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 18-under 270, one stroke ahead of Australia's Michael Wright (Pro V1x) and 23-year old Namchok Tantipokakul (Pro V1x) of Thailand.

CANADIAN TOUR: Titleist Brand Ambassador Aaron Goldberg dominated the season-ending Canadian Tour Championship in much the same way he dominated the Tour's Order of Merit for much of the season. With a final round 5-under 65 at St. Catharines G&CC, the 25-year-old native of Carlsbad, CA won the Tour's premier event by 6 shots, posting a 15-under 265 total. Among the five players who finished in a tie for second at 9-under 271 were Josh Habig (Pro V1x), Clayton Rask (Pro V1x) and Kane Hanson (Pro V1 X).

What's in Aaron Goldberg's Bag?: Titleist Pro V1x, 910 D2 prototype driver (8.5), 909 F3 fairway metal (13.0), 695 CB irons (4-9), Vokey Design wedges (48, 52, 56, 60), Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter.

The win is the third this season on the Canadian Tour for Goldberg (he also triumphed at the Clublink Jane Rogers Championship in August and The Players Cup in July). His season-long performance sews up the Canadian Tour Order of Merit for Goldberg, earning him an exemption into the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School.

Titleist and FootJoy comprise the major golf brands of the Acushnet Company, an operating company of Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE - FO).
