Chris Baldwin: Rolling Stone weighs in on TravelGolf.com's Charles Barkley/Democrats interview

Rolling Stone magazine isn't just about rock & roll. It's long dabbled in politics and national issues. Now, it's joining the fray on Charles Barkley, bad golfer turned sudden loud Democrat.

Rolling Stone National Affairs Tim Dickinson writes about Barkley telling TravelGolf.com "that the word conservative means discriminatory practically". This was all part of the fallout from Dan Quayle walking out on a John Mellencamp concert for Republican bashing at a Lake Tahoe celebrity golf tournament.

Anyway, Rolling Stone proves to have some readers who could give the Wie Warriors a run in crazy logic. One writes that "Barkley can’t even speak proper english ..." Another wonders if Barkley ever made it past the 8th grade.

Hello? He attended college at Auburn. Barkley played back before the small window when players could jump straight from high school to the NBA. And you can say a lot of things about Barkley, but he's no dumb jock. He's interesting and in the top one percent of athlete and actor thinkers (not exactly a gruelling category competition, but still).

Sort of makes you feel better about some of our wacky readers.

At least, Rolling Stone gives credit where credit is due (unlike those party fashion boys at the New York Post). It links directly out to TravelGolf.com twice as reference in the story (which means their crazies could he headed here, come to think of it).

Rolling Stone just another publication that gets at least part of its news from TravelGolf.com.

And one that almost matches us in lunatic posters.
