Golf tourney to help retired four-legged athletes

Nov. 8, 2004 – Arizona National Golf Club and Arizona Greyhound Rescue team up for the first annual Tucson Golfing for Greyhounds tournament benefiting greyhound adoption. The greyhounds are retired racers and receive transitional care and training so they can be placed in permanent homes in the Tucson area.

The 4-player scrambler event will be held November 20. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.; tee-off 7:30 a.m. The cost is $200 per player ($117 tax-deductible) and includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, GPS, practice balls, two drink tickets, lunch, and a Wildcat Trail card (value $59). Win prizes for hole-in-one, longest drive, and closest to the hole.

Arizona Greyhound Rescue is a non-profit, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 corporation providing food, shelter, and medical care to retired racing greyhounds before placing them in loving and permanent homes in Tucson and southeast Arizona.
