Champ Spikes continues victory march toward 2006 grand slam

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- CHAMP Spikes/MacNeill Engineering continued their pursuit of golf’s grand slam in memorable fashion with an emotional British Open victory, their 3rd Major Championship in 2006. CHAMP Spikes has claimed victories at The Masters, The US Open, and The British Open this year and the PGA Championship remains the only obstacle in completing the elusive “Grand Slam.”

At the British Open, the victor shot a final round 5-under 67 to finish an astounding 18-under for his second straight Claret Jug. Again, CHAMP Spikes put its best foot forward at the British Open as five of the top 10 finishers sported CHAMP spikes. Overall, 66 of the 156 golfers (42%) at this year’s British Open wore CHAMP Spikes.

“Its exciting to be part of another championship this season, especially one with the magnitude of the British Open,” said Harris MacNeill, President and son of founder Harold MacNeill.
