Dave Marrandette: Tiger, Annika, and Michelle Wie on the phone

We are extremely fortunate to be located in Wyoming for the summer. There's a moderate altitude (4600 feet) to keep the temperature comfortable at night and make your tee shots soar and a marvelous golf course for our playing and viewing pleasure. Plus, from our secret communications hideaway we are able to listen in on a plethora of telephone conversations – all this on our $.99 cell phone. Actually it started at $99.99, but with 27 separate rebates we were able to reduce the cost, minus the price of stamps, of course.

Anyway, immediately following the British Open our golf spy phone began to ring, or vibrate as the case may be. Because of brilliant sunshine and warm temperatures, the reception was only mediocre at best, but we did get in on the following bits of conversation:

These two were picked up from NikeSat:

Tiger Woods: That's eleven.
Annika Sorenstam: Congrats!
TW: Thanks. Good luck in two weeks.
AS: Thanks. Talk to you in two weeks.
TW: Okay, thanks.

And then just a short time later...

Michelle Wie: Like, congratulations.
TW: Thanks.
MW: How do you do it? I mean, like, stay so focused, and like, win all the time.
TW: It's a combination of experience and skill.
MW: Like, which comes first?
TW: It happens simultaneously. You develop the skills as you gain competitive experience through various levels of competition.
MW: Like, what levels?
TW: You know, junior golf, mini-tours, etc. Always play at a level of competition that forces you to push your current skills to the limit and yet at the same time allows you an opportunity to do well in that competition.
MW: Like, wow, I never thought of that. I'll have to ask my dad.
TW: Hey, who is this anyway?
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
