12 Oaks in Holly Springs, North Carolina to host 2010 Wake Junior

The Tarheel Golf Foundation will hold the Second Annual Wake Junior at the Club at 12 Oaks in Holly Springs, N.C. on Aug. 21-22, 2010. The event is open to boys and girls who have not yet completed high school. Playing divisions include two high school boys' divisions (freshman/sophomore, junior/senior), middle school boys, and girls ages 12-18. The event is open to all junior golfers regardless of country or state of residence. The event is supported by golf retail giant, Golfsmith and Straight Shot to College Golf, a counseling service for aspiring college golfer.

The Nicklaus Designed golf course at 12 Oaks is an exclusive private facility located just south of Raleigh, NC. With a limited membership, the course is maintained in pristine condition for the enjoyment of its membership, The challenging golf course is set in a wooded setting with wetlands and wooded perimeters that house a variety of wildlife and waterfowl. August will mark the second Tarheel Golf Foundation event at 12 Oaks. In October 2009, the organization held it annual Carolina Fall Classic and the first ever tournament at the course. The reviews from players, parents and spectators we overwhelmingly positive and immediate plans were put in place to return with a Major Regional Championship.

Thanks to the support of the Tarheel Golf Foundation, the event is one of the lowest priced regional championships in the Southeast. The entry fee for the two day event is $95 for entries received before July 21, 2010.
