David Edwards brings a touch of golf magic to the Scottish summer

On the eve of the 150th anniversary Open Championship at the Old Course in St Andrews, the world record breaking golf maestro and former European Tour player David Edwards will commence a tour of Scotland with his own brand of amazing trick shots and entertainment.

David's tour begins with an appearance at the Scottish Golf Heritage Festival in Musselburgh on July 12 where he will join in the Open Championship celebrations by joining former Open champion and Ryder Cup Captain Tony Jacklin in paying homage to one of Musselburgh's most famous members, Willie Park Senior.

On July 24, David, who set a world record for hitting 312 balls in three minutes in March and is often known as "The Scissor Shots guy", will put his wonderful skills on display at the British Senior Open at Carnoustie. The likes of Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Sir Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Sandy Lyle, Sam Torrance and Bernhard Langer will have the opportunity to learn a thing or two about trick shots.

In August, David will be performing at Kirkhill Golf Club near Glasgow as part of the club's Centenary Celebrations. He will then head north to perform in Aberdeenshire at Duff House Royal Golf Club also on the occasion of the club's Centenary Celebrations and Huntly Golf Club. At the end of the month David will head to St Andrews Links where he will use his skills to inspire the young golf stars of tomorrow during the finals of the HSBC Wee Wonders Tournament.

David said, "I am very excited about staging so many shows in Scotland this year. There is always plenty of top class golf to watch in this country and while there are many great championships taking place I like to bring a more relaxed air to the game. For me it is all about making sure people enjoy golf by doing something a little bit different and making it entertaining and fun. Hopefully it will inspire others to take up the game when they see what can be done with a little skill and a lot of practice."

After his performances in Scotland, the highlight of a busy summer schedule for David will be his appearance at the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Wales from September 28 to October 3.
