Softspikes captures LPGA Championship and 54th Major victory

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Softspikes, the world's leading golf cleat brand and maker of the #1 Cleat on TOUR, captured the Company's 54th Major victory this past weekend as the winner of the LPGA Championship presented by Wegmans donned Black Widow, golf's best selling cleat of all-time.

Additionally, golf's hottest new cleat, Black Widow Tour, captured a victory at the Nationwide Tour's Mexico Open Bicentenary, while 14 of the top 19 finishers wore Softspikes. Further rounding out another great weekend in professional golf, Softspikes dominated the leaderboard at the PGA Tour's Traveler's Championship, as 7 of the top 10 plastic cleat wearers donned Softspikes, along with 73% of the plastic cleat field.

"On the heels of winning the U.S. Open last week, it's terrific to win back-to-back Majors with Black Widow capturing the LPGA Championship," said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. "It's even better to dominate in plastic cleat usage across all tours, while adding yet another win for the surging Black Widow Tour cleat."

PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company's purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world's premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world's leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
