New Kodak-Callaway Facebook application enables swing analysis

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- "Ben Hogan famously said he would have found the secret to golf in the dirt," according to world renowned golf instructor and Callaway brand ambassador David Leadbetter. "He would have found it quicker with video cameras." Now thanks to Kodak and Callaway, he can even find it on Facebook beginning today (June 24).

Kodak and Callaway announced that they have jointly developed a new Facebook application that will allow golfers everywhere to upload videos of their golf swing for an opportunity for free online analysis by Callaway teaching pros. The free application will be available to Facebook users beginning June 24 at www.facebook.com/Callaway and www.facebook.com/kodakchallenge. The new application will be available on both Facebook pages through the end of 2010.

By clicking on the "Swing Tips HD" link on the Callaway and Kodak Challenge Facebook pages, fans can upload and share video of their golf swing. Fans can comment on each other's videos, and Callaway Teaching pros will offer expert advice on selected videos. Users will also be able to view their swing video online and compare it to golf swings of Callaway staffers. Video tutorials on various aspects of the golf game (long game, short game, etc.) will also be available.

"The Kodak - Callaway Facebook collaboration provides fans a simple and effective way to integrate video analysis into their golf game. The new 'Swing Tips HD Facebook application is the perfect complement to our new KODAK PLAYSPORT Video Camera, which gives golfers unprecedented access to HD video right in their golf bag. Through Facebook and our collaboration with Callaway, we're now able to show golf fans across the Internet how easy and effective video golf analysis can be." explained Steven Powell, Director of Program Development for the Kodak Challenge.

"Our current promotion, that gives customers a KODAK PLAYSPORT Video Camera with the purchase of a new 2010 Callaway driver has generated great feedback," said Joe Urzetta, Senior Vice President, U.S. Sales, Callaway Golf. "This new Facebook application is a terrific way for golfers to receive video swing analysis from Callaway master staff teaching professionals."
