It seems you never know who you might have to beat to win on the Golf Channel Amateur Tour. For example, last weekend, former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder won his second Golf Channel Amateur Tour major at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course.

Mulder fired a 147 in the 36-hole, two-day event for his sixth victory in nine appearances this year, lending credence to the claim that baseball pitchers make the best golfers. He opened with a 70 and followed with a 77, which was good enough.

Mulder competed against 180 players from Arizona and surrounding areas. With his wins, Mulder has enough points to qualify for the Am Tour National Championship, which will be at the TPC Sawgrass PLAYERS Stadium Course, home of the Players Championship, in September.

More importantly, you could have the same chance as Mulder, but you have to join. The Golf Channel Amateur Tour is the largest amateur golf tour in North America, with more than 800 tournaments a year.
