Druh Belts & Buckles celebrates their second European Tour title

In a revival that would rival Abba's return to the music scene, Thomas Bjorn once again became a winner on the European Tour and amongst the first to congratulate him was Druh Belts & Buckles for which the Dane is a brand ambassador.

Bjorn returned to the winner's podium for the first time since 2006 with a decisive five-shot victory over Australia's Richard Green at the Estoril Open de Portugal on Sunday (June 13) after a closing 68 for a 23-under-par aggregate total of 265.

"It feels it has been a long time in coming, but I have to be pleased. When I saw the weather conditions I thought if I shot somewhere in the 60s I would be difficult to beat and I produced a 68," said the 39-year-old, who was wearing a Druh "DB" buckle and white belt on the final day.

The Portuguese victory is Bjorn's 10th European Tour title and his first for more than four years. It marks an incredible return to form over the last 10 days: after six successive missed cuts, he recorded a top-10 finish at The Celtic Manor Wales Open and then went on to secure a coveted spot in The Open Championship 2010 at the International Final Qualifier at Sunningdale. With this week's winner's cheque of €166,660 (US$203,744), the former Ryder Cup player now finds himself in the top 40 in The Race to Dubai.

Druh's first major European Tour title came at the start of the year when Druh ambassador Robert Karlsson secured the Qatar Masters in January. In fact, the Swede almost made it a double celebration for Druh this week when he played his way into a three-way play-off at the St Jude Classic on the US PGA Tour with England's Lee Westwood and American Robert Garrigus.

At the first hole of the sudden-death play-off, Garrigus drove behind a tree and made a bogey while the two Europeans parred the hole. Both level over 11 and 12, it was not until the 4th extra hole, the 18th, that Westwood secured the title from Karlsson, the European Tour Order of Merit winner in 2008, with a winning birdie.

Both Bjorn and Karlsson endorse Druh as the 'Choice of Champions'. Stylish, yet funky, Druh Belts & Buckles range offers the discerning golfer a selection of stylish handmade leather and snakeskin belts in classic and chic casual styles and have quickly become the golf professionals' style secret.

Alongside Bjorn and Karlsson, Irishman Paul McGinley and Thai number one, Thongchai Jaidee, are also Druh Belts & Buckles ambassadors whilst Englishmen Ross McGowan, David Howell and Graeme Storm and lady pros Christina Kim and Carin Koch all favour Druh Belts.

Available through the internet at www.druhbeltsandbuckles.com, Druh Belts retail at US$200 for snakeskin and $100 for leather and guarantees that the snakes used in production are not a protected species.
