FAIRMONT SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda – Nov. 6, 2004 – Back due to popular demand, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has partnered with the Bermuda Department of Tourism to bring the “Meetings Above & Beyond the Expected” program for the third consecutive year.
Groups who book and hold their meetings from November 2004 through March 2005 at The Fairmont Southampton or The Fairmont Hamilton Princess can enjoy world-class accommodation with rates starting at only $125 (US) per room per night (available on selected dates only, November 2004 to March 2005). Savings also extend to include air travel, discounts on island activities and special hotel amenities.
Bermuda’s only multimedia amphitheatre, The Fairmont Southampton’s Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre offers state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, 7,400 sq. ft. in flexible meeting space, and has the capacity to seat up to 700 people.
Based on the number of room nights booked with the “Meetings Above & Beyond the Expected” package, groups will receive a select number of VIP suite upgrades, private group check-in with welcome cocktails, discounts off hotel-catered functions, and complimentary room nights.
The program also provides 25% off meeting components such as audio-visual equipment, entertainment, on-island boat tours or charters; golf at the Port Royal Golf Club for $90 per person; one low rate for air available year-round; and a free five-day, four-night Bermuda getaway for two.
“The ‘Meetings Above and Beyond the Expected’ program continues to be a successful promotion for Fairmont and the Island overall,” said Simon Little, Director of Group Sales for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Bermuda. “It’s a complete package and brings all the elements together, making it easy for planners by creating a one-stop-shop for their meeting needs.”
Only two hours away from most major U.S. cities along the East Coast, a meeting in Bermuda makes good business sense – it qualifies for a U.S. tax deduction, the weather is mild, there's great golf, no sales tax, and U.S. customs are cleared before departing the Island.
The Fairmont Hamilton Princess and The Fairmont Southampton Princess boast recently renovated meeting rooms and offer complete audio-visual, communications, staging and meeting support services. Willow Stream spa can also provide a contact person to co-ordinate spa appointments and billing. Terraces and gardens are available for outdoor receptions, and menus can be designed to the group’s specifications. Off-property activities like cruises, themed events, and special dine-arounds can also be arranged through the hotels.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Bermuda has created a direct mail piece detailing the benefits of the “Meetings Above and Beyond the Expected” program to assist planners. The “Get a Lot More Meeting For Your Money at Fairmont Bermuda” mailer will be distributed to 10,000 meeting planners nationwide November 2004.
