Paul Azinger heads to Louisville, Kentucky to promote his book

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Paul Azinger has an affinity with Louisville. As captain of the 2008 Ryder Cup Team, he masterminded the U.S. victory at Louisville's Valhalla Golf Club. The next year, he signed an endorsement deal with Louisville-based Bionic gloves, owned by Hillerich & Bradsby Co., makers of the world-famous Louisville Slugger.

Now Azinger is heading back to the city where he's known for success. On Wednesday, May 19 at 12:15 p.m., 'Zinger, as he's often called, will make an appearance at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. H&B Vice President of Communications Rick Redman, a former broadcaster for WAVE-3 and WHAS-11, will interview Azinger for about 30 minutes inside the museum's clubhouse on the second floor. The event is free and open to public. Attendance will be limited to about 150 people.

After the event, Azinger will autograph copies of his new book, Cracking the Code: The Winning Ryder Cup Strategy: Make It Work for You, which will be available for $24.95 each.

"Paul has a great knack for telling stories," says Redman. "From imitating Boo Weekley to talking in-depth strategy, Paul has a captivating style. It should be one of the easiest interviews I've ever done and very entertaining for anyone who gets to see it."

Azinger has a lot to talk about. During his career, he's won 14 PGA Tour events, including a major (1993 PGA Championship). He's battled and overcome cancer. And now he's releasing his second book.

"Paul is not only a great golfer, he's a great person, and we're proud to have him as our staff pro," says Bionic gloves President Bill Clark. For the past year, Azinger has been wearing a Bionic glove during competition and calls it "the best golf glove ever made."

Bionic gloves are the only gloves designed by an orthopedic surgeon. Bionic offers high-performance athletic and recreational gloves for baseball, fitness (weight lifting), tennis, racquetball, gardening, motorcycle cruising, plus other sports and pastimes.
