BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Softspikes, the world's best-selling golf cleat brand and #1 Cleat on TOUR, backed by golf's hottest new cleat, Black Widow Tour, not only captured a victory, but dominated the plastic cleat field and leaderboard at the PGA Tour's Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Led by 2 Top 10 finishes for Black Widow Tour, golf's first adjustable cleat, the Softspikes cleat arsenal captured 74% of the plastic cleat field, including 4 of the Top 5 leaderboard positions, and 39 of the overall 43 finishers, according to the Independent Darrell Survey.
In related news, Softspikes also enjoyed another successful weekend on the Nationwide Tour, capturing the plastic cleat field and commanding the leaderboard with 22 of the Top 31 finishers wearing Softspikes-brand cleats.
"Black Widow Tour is quickly becoming a favorite among top players, and each week this new cleat is gaining more and more momentum, while climbing up the leaderboards," said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. "Combined with our overall Softspikes product arsenal, we expect BLACK WIDOW TOUR to lead our cleat domination to an even higher level."
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company's purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world's premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world's leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
