Baseball legend Greg Maddux offers exclusive Las Vegas golf vacation package on eBay

LAS VEGAS -- When was the last time that you and two of your buddies got to tee off with a future Baseball Hall of Famer on an elite golf course in fabulous Las Vegas?

Now is your chance as legendary major league pitcher Greg Maddux offers a once-in-a-lifetime golf trip to America's fun capital. Besides $1,500 in travel gift cards on US Airways, the package entails a round of golf for four including Maddux at the exclusive Cascata Golf Club -- one of Southern Nevada's most prestigious golfing experiences -- plus limo service to and from the airport, dinner at the Wolfgang Puck's Spago in Caesars Palace, and three rooms at Luxury Suites International for a two night/three day stay.

The package is valued at $15,000 ... although golf with Greg Maddux is priceless. Bids started at $7,500 on eBay April 23 and will run for 10 days. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds will benefit Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas, which serves more than 100,000 visitors per year and provides children from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds with interactive activities that ignite a lifelong love of learning. The other 25 percent will benefit the Greg Maddux Foundation and its work with children's charities in Southern Nevada.

To bid, go to eBay and search "Greg Maddux Golf" to view and bid on the package.

"I am fortunate to be able to help kids in my hometown by raising funds that broaden their horizons," said Maddux. "I can promise the winner of the bidding a challenging game and some great baseball stories."

Maddux played in the major leagues from 1986 until his recent retirement in 2008. During his career he played for the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Diego Padres, and is widely seen as a shoe-in for the Baseball Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible in 2014.
