Green Friendly Belt's divot tool in tip blends function with fashion

The Green Friendly Golf Company, a company committed to developing a range of golf accessories that combine fashion and function and encourage “easy etiquette” on the golf course, announce the consumer launch of their first product, The Green Friendly Belt. The world’s only golf belt with a divot tool and ball marker built right into the tip, the Green Friendly Belt offers golfers a stylish and convenient way to fix ball marks and mark the location of a golf ball on the green.

The belt features 100% full grain leather, double stitching and a high polish nickel finish. The precision-engineered divot tool is “green friendly” as it does not damage the green’s fragile root system, guaranteeing smooth rolling and healthy greens for everyone.

Company partner Rick Schad, a graphic designer by trade, was looking for a way to combine his love of golf with his work. “As an avid golfer, I have always been conscious of golf etiquette, but I knew there had to be a better system than conventional divot tools that were always getting lost and causing considerable damage to the greens when not used correctly,” said Schad. “I was out on the golf course one day and touched the tip of my belt, and it just hit me; what a perfect and logical location for a divot tool. I set out to design an attractive yet functional tool that would fit right in the tip of the belt, where it is always accessible,” added Schad.

“My goal was to design a divot tool that would not penetrate below the green’s root system and would encourage the twisting method of repair as recommended by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. The belt has evolved to what it is today, a scientifically designed tool for every golfer, caddy and greens keeper. This belt completes the true golfer's uniform.”

The Green Friendly Golf Belt has been endorsed by the PGA Retirement Plus and Professional Caddies Association, and it is has been recognized by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

“The number one challenge we face in maintaining our tour standard greens is getting golfers to repair their ball marks,” said Matthew Adams, President and General Manager of Newport National Golf Club in Newport, Rhode Island. “The Green Friendly Golf Belt offers a convenient way to promote proper golf etiquette.”

The Green Friendly Golf Belt is already being sold at Brooks Brothers, and in Nordstrom stores across the country.
