Robert McNeil scheduled to speak at New England Turf Conference

Robert McNeil will discuss the building blocks of any productive project are passion (for what we all do), commitment to the goals and visions (unyielding and well-guided) and achievement (getting things done).

His discussion will revolve around the building of a viable golf course improvement team including the Golf Course Superintendent, the Club's Management Staff, Committees, Boards and the Golf Course Architect and supporting consultants. Critical to the discussion will be the roles of each team member, the importance of trust and leadership, and the overall process of getting a project underway, flushing out the ideas and executing the work.

As a fun and pointed element to the presentation, Mr. McNeil will deliver an energized harmonica solo to get the audience's attention, but more importantly to establish the need for passion in what we do.

The presentation will revolve around the 5 key elements of a productive relationship:

1- Passion
2- Vision
3- Commitment/Trust
4- Orchestration/Leadership
5- Achievement

The audience will be guided through these concepts as they apply to getting things done, establishing a productive project team and staff and guaranteeing the "buy in" on the project.

Beyond these building blocks, the "Pieces to the Puzzle" will be discussed:

1- Up Front Planning
2- Idea Development (the fun part)
3- Selling the Project
4- Plan Development
5- Bidding and Negotiation
6- Going to Construction
