Kodak Challenge hole #17 at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West , the shortest hole of the Kodak Challenge season, tested the pros at the Bob Hope Classic this past week. Four pros carded late round birdies to move into the Kodak Challenge lead.
While most of the field played the Kodak Challenge hole #17 at the Bob Hope Classic at par, a quartet of pros carded birdies to join the top of the 2010 Kodak Challenge leaderboard. Brian Gay, Matt Kuchar, Ryan Moore and Bo Van Pelt each carded birdies on the 130-yard par 3 at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West today. The four are tied at 2-under-par with Paul Casey and Sean O'Hair, who were not in the field at the Bob Hope Classic.
Heath Slocum had the easiest Kodak Challenge birdie of the day after dropping his tee shot just 19 inches from the cup. Slocum's tap-in birdie was one of just 16 dueces scored on the shortest hole of the 2010 Kodak Challenge season. Bob Hope Classic winner, Bill Haas also birdied the Kodak Challenge hole on his way to a score of 30-under-par.
2009 Kodak Challenge champion Kevin Streelman played the hole at par today after carding a birdie on Sunday. Streelman claimed the inaugural Kodak Challenge in 2009, netting the third-year TOUR professional the Kodak Challenge trophy and the winner-take-all $1 million prize.
Monday's final round on the Kodak Challenge hole #17 included 16 birdies, 50 pars and 8 bogies.
The next Kodak Challenge hole is the par 4 435-yard #17 at Torrey Pines South Course at the Farmers Insurance Open on January 28-31 in La Jolla, CA.
