Polo Ralph Lauren signs Webb Simpson for multi-year sponsorship

NEW YORK -- Polo Ralph Lauren announced today that professional golfer Webb Simpson has signed a multi-year contract to represent its Polo Golf collection. As part of the partnership, Mr. Simpson will serve as a brand ambassador for Polo Ralph Lauren worldwide and will be featured in a national advertising campaign for the brand and will wear clothing from the Polo Golf collection.

"Webb is an incredibly talented athlete who embodies youthfulness and a classic style, making him a perfect fit for the Polo Golf brand," said David Lauren, Senior Vice President of Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communications for Ralph Lauren.

Mr. Simpson, 24, is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and a recent graduate of Wake Forest University where he was a four-time NCAA All-American and was a member of the victorious 2007 Walker Team Cup. Mr. Simpson finished his senior year winning the ACC Championship and was named the ACC Player of the Year. Upon turning pro in June 2008, Mr. Simpson was one of two players to earn a 2009 PGA Tour card.
