North Carolina's Callaway Junior World Qualifying event venue set

The Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship on April 24-25 has been selected to serve as the North Carolina qualifying tournament for the 2010 Callaway Junior World Championship. Junior World qualifying divisions include boys and girls ages 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-17. The low score in each division will qualify to play in the Callaway Junior World Championships in San Diego, California. The Annual Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship is held at Carolina Trace Country Club's Lake Course in Sanford, NC.

The Callaway Golf Junior World Golf Championships is truly unique with a total field size exceeding 1000 golfers and representing an impressive number of countries and states. In 2009, Junior World hosted 1082 participants from 45 states and 50 countries Many Junior World champions have gone on to enjoy successful careers on the PGA and LPGA Tours, including Amy Alcott, Notah Begay, Brandie Burton, John Cook, Dorothy Delasin, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, Corey Pavin, Pat Perez, Joan Pitcock, Nick Price, Kim Shipman, Craig Stadler, David Toms and Tiger Woods.

The Lake Course at Carolina Trace Country Club is a challenging Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design that features dramatic elevation changes and several picturesque holes that run alongside Lake Trace. In addition to being the host course for the Annual Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship, it has hosted many collegiate, amateur and professional tournaments, including the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Championship, qualifying for the PGA Tour's Champions Tour and most recently it served as a 2009 US Women's Open Sectional Qualifying Site. It will again host the US Women's Open qualifying in 2010.

As an additional bonus, the High School Division Champion will also receive an invitation to compete in the 2010 Joe Cheves Junior Invitational played at Mimosa Hills Country Club in September.

The Annual Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship is presented by the Tarheel Golf Foundation.
