TINLEY PARK, Ill. -- World-renowned putter designer Robert J. Bettinardi has addressed the needs of many golfers with Studio B, a state of the art design facility that offers customized fitting for the world famous Bettinardi putter. Working with some of the P.G.A.’s and L.P.G.A.’s finest; Bettinardi and his dedicated staff understand the importance of putter fitting first hand.
Golfers of all levels of skill from all over the world come to Studio B to be fitted for their putters. Various pieces of memorabilia adorn the walls, including Jim Furyk’s Sunday scorecard from his 2003 U.S. Open victory when he used a Bettinardi-designed Baby Ben putter. Vijay Singh’s P.G.A. victory replica putter he won at Whistling Straights and gold-plated putters that commemorate the 38 worldwide victories Bettinardi putters have won over the years also decorate Studio B.
Studio B knows a putting style is as unique as an individual personality, in other words, no two putting stokes are exactly alike. “I’ve had people say it’s almost like getting fit for a suit,” Bettinardi said. “We’re not going to change a guy’s posture; we’re not going to make his arms grow or shrink. We’re going to fit the suit to that gentleman”. Studio B believes that putting is really personal, sort of like that tailored suit. Taking this into consideration, trained Studio B professionals break down an individual putting stoke on its four camera laser vision system. This state of the art technology helps Studio B look at the putting stroke at 120 frames per second helping set the correct lie, loft, and length to the stroke. Once these specifications are applied Studio B will have created a putter that is distinctively individual.
It is impossible to select a putter out of any pro shop that is anywhere near the precision of a custom fitting at Studio B. At Studio B, every fitting includes your choice of over 12 limited Bettinardi grips, shaft bands, and hard to find and highly collectible head covers. In addition, Studio B has many rare putter that can only be purchased at the studio, including the limited Japanese Bettinardi line! These added touches make Studio B a truly personal and lasting experience.
Bettinardi recently combined with the forging and technology leader in golf, Mizuno golf USA, Inc. to introduce a new line of milled putters. The new Mizuno Bettinardi putters will be 100% precision milled at Bettinardi’s headquarters in Tinley Park, Illinois and assembled at Mizuno USA headquarters in Norcross, Georgia. It is a match made in heaven; Mizuno and Bettinardi have come to create the finest one-piece milled putters in the industry. The Bettinardi name is synonymous with precision, performance and excellence having produced some of the most beautiful putters in the world, Bettinardi’s putters are best known for their patented One-Piece Technology and Honeycomb Finish, the latter of which is applied vertically by a jeweler’s tool to the face of the putter to assure the flattest possible surface. Bettinardi creates works of art from materials such as “double-aged” stainless steel, soft carbon, copper and aircraft quality aluminum and also an array of finishes and inserts.
The putters available at Studio B range in price from $400.00 to $10,000.00 with collectible putters also available. All fittings by Studio B are by appointment only and generally take one hour.
