Douglas Goubault new Director of Golf at Predator Ridge Resort

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada -- Predator Ridge Resort in the Okanagan Valley is pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas Goubault as the Director of Golf, reporting to Rod Cochrane, General Manager, effective immediately.

In his new role at Predator Ridge, Goubault will be responsible for overseeing the world class course and the opening of the spectacular new, critically acclaimed 18-hole course created by renowned designer Douglas Carrick, opening in the summer of 2010.

Goubault spent the past ten years with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Mexico and Canada where he has become known as a leader who builds strong teams focused on delivering exceptional golf experiences.

Goubault was most recently the Director of Golf at El Camaleón, Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. He managed a $20 million budget to open the golf course, which was subsequently awarded the Best New International Course by Travel & Leisure Magazine. He was instrumental in creating the first PGA Tour event outside Canada or the USA - the Mayakoba Golf Classic, now in its fourth year.

Prior to moving to Playa del Carmen in 2003, Doug spent four years as Director of Golf Operations at both The Fairmont Acapulco Princess Resort and The Fairmont Pierre Marques Resort in Acapulco. During this time, he oversaw the re-design and renovation of the Pierre Marques Golf Club and all aspects of the operations for this 36-hole facility. Prior to moving to Mexico, Goubault worked at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club.

Goubault has been in the golf industry for almost 20 years providing him with an extensive understanding of course operation. He competed at the amateur level while growing up on Vancouver Island and was Captain of Team Canada at the World University Golf Championships in Northern Ireland.

Goubault served as President of the Mexican Caribbean Golf Course Association, effectively growing the association from four founding members to the current 12 facilities during his Presidency.
